of this region and causes the formation of wart-shaped masses called condyloma (condyloma acuminatum). Once HPV enters the body, it settles into the cells and causes periodic recurrent infections. Although HPV virus and related genital wart infection is included in the group of sexually transmitted diseases, it is known that it can be transmitted outside of sexual intercourse, albeit very rarely.
