What is Migraine, What are its Types?

What is Migraine, What are its Types?Migraine is a headache that occurs due to changes in the nerves and blood vessels in the brain.

. The attacks of people with migraine can be triggered by some factors. It usually manifests itself with severe pain. Hormonal and environmental causes can trigger migraines.
Migraine is one of the diseases that reduces a person's living standards and limits daily activities. Pain is one of the most common symptoms of this disease. This pain, which occurs in the nape, temple or around the eyes, may intensify as it moves and may continue with throbbing symptoms. This pain is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, discomfort against light and sound. The two most common types of migraine are migraine with and without aura.
Migraine with aura: Before the pain, various visual impairments and light vision are experienced.
Menstrual migraine: It usually comes during menstrual periods.
During vestibular migraine attacks, dizziness, imbalance, nausea and vomiting are observed.

 How Is Migraine Treated?
The first treatment method is the doctor's diagnosis of migraine after the patient tells the specialist about his complaints. Patients with recurrent complaints must first undergo a brain imaging. If there are more than 1-2 attacks a week, preventive treatments should be applied and if there are triggers, they should be resolved. For treatment, the person must first change their lifestyle.
It is possible to talk about two types of treatment methods in this disease. These; pain relief and treatment are divided into two as preventive treatment methods;
Painkiller treatment method: It is an adequate method for people who have pain 2-3 times a month, using drugs called triptans. The person with pain consumes the painkiller in the specified dose.
Preventive treatment method: It is used to reduce the number of headaches, the severity and frequency of the pain. In this method used in treatment; Depression relievers, some heart medications and some of the drugs used in epilepsy are used. Although the duration of the treatment method varies from patient to patient, it takes 3-4 months. In addition to these, there are some points that one should pay attention to in daily life. These important points are as follows;

•Regular sleep
• Stress management
• Nutritional pattern
• Ideal weight ratio
• Alcohol and cigarette consumption should be avoided.
The above-mentioned substances will contribute positively to the treatment process as well as the personalized treatment. In this way, the person gets used to living with migraine and takes it under control over time. In the treatment, the patient and the doctor should be in harmony.

1- Look for signs that show it's ready

 The most important indicator that determines the right time for toilet training is the child's movements. He also needs to be able to express himself by speaking or showing a few words. Some signs in children indicate that they are ready for toilet training. The main thing is to be able to read these signs. Being uncomfortable or showing after pooping or peeing, increased interest in going to the toilet, and staying dry for more than 3 hours during the day indicate that the child is ready.
2- Determine the right time
Toilet training for children requires a physiological development process. According to the literature, the most appropriate interval is between 24-48 months, when the child begins to know himself, and his personality and behavioral characteristics come to the forefront physically, psychologically and behaviorally. However, every child's physical and emotional development is different from each other.
3- Introduce the toilet
At the stage of education, first of all, it is necessary to introduce the child by showing the toilet process. During the one-week preparation period, it is important to go to the toilet with the child, show the poop if necessary, and explain that this is nothing to be afraid of. If possible, the child can be a good demonstrator of the father for boys and the mother for girls, even if it is not possible with their peers. Depending on the place, sitting on the toilet together can be a solution.
4- Get a suitable potty
Another step of the preparation period is to buy a suitable potty. If possible, shopping should be done with the child and it is necessary to wait a few days for the child to get used to it. Reminding that some parents also act in the form of sitting directly on the toilet, Dr. Mehmet Kesikminare says that this is not wrong, but the process can be a little easier with the potty…

5- Take it to the toilet according to the child's biorhythm

All people have a biorhythm about their toilet habits. For this reason, it is important for parents who decide on toilet training to follow their children and determine the frequency of taking them to the toilet accordingly. It can be beneficial for the child to stay open for a while to create a sense of security. It is necessary to be understanding and patient in the face of urinations that may occur in this process.
Underlining that the child should not be clothed at night as well as during the day, Dr. Mehmet Kesikminare says, “After the child sleeps, take him to the toilet by waking him up every 2 or 3 hours in accordance with the toilet rhythm during the daytime, for example, by waking him up.”
6- Always be positive
This process, which can be completed in a minimum of one week, can take up to 6 months depending on the child. For this reason, if the child refuses this situation within a week after the first attempts, it is necessary to take a break and wait. The disappointment of the parents during the waiting period, which may last up to a week or a month, makes the process much more difficult.
7- Teach hygiene rules
Another habit that should be gained during toilet training is cleanliness and hygiene. For both boys and girls, hygiene rules such as how to wipe or wash after completing the toilet, use of toilet paper and flushing should be taught. Particular attention should be paid to the habit of hand washing. At this point, families can determine the appropriate method for themselves. Behaviors such as using colored soaps and singing while washing hands can make this process easier and more enjoyable.
8- Reward with praise

It should not be forgotten that accidental urination that may occur during toilet training are part of this process. Stating that some children may encounter nighttime problems up to the age of 7, Child Health and Diseases Specialist Dr. Mehmet Kesikminare underlines that children should never be punished in the face of this situation.
